"I found Chef Jay online and thought that a personal chef would be a great gift for a Mothers Day present for my wife. I was a novice and didn't know what questions to ask, what items I wanted served, wine to serve with them or date of this gift. Chef Jay made it so easy for me to look like a superstar. He provided a menu to my wife and I a few weeks in advance and verified we did not have any dietary restrictions. When he showed up he brought everything for the dinner, plates and silverware along with the food he was going to cook. He allowed my wife to watch while he cooked and ask questions about what he was doing and why. He was very open and was happy to discuss anything from how he was preparing the meal to what foods are good for our kids to help make. The meal he served was fantastic fresh with seasonal ingredients, and full of flavor and color. I would recommend Chef Jay to my friends in the future."

It was such an indulgence and special treat to have him take care of the planning, shopping, cooking, serving, and cleaning up while we were able to relax and visit with our guests. Jay thoughtfully put together a menu based on a discussion we had about my husband's favorite food. The food was all great, but the plank grilled scallops were particularly noteworthy. As was the chocolate sumapaz with sauce anglaise and fresh raspberries for dessert! Jay used all fresh and seasonal ingredients too which we really appreciated. "For Valentine's Day, a group of our friends thought it would be fun to have Jay come over and cook us dinner. I personally have not eaten a meal prepared by Jay but one of our friends had attended a wedding which Jay catered and raved about the food. Before the actual day, Jay worked with myself and my fiancee to come up with a dinner menu- scallops with bacon chutney, dungeness crab ravioli, rack of lamb and profiteroles is what we came up with. "We were very excited when we received a gift certificate for Canape Specialty Chef Services. We worked with Jay through email to get the perfect date set up, as well as the perfect menu. He told us that each meal is customized for every occasion, so we gave him some ideas as to what we liked and he came up with a wonderful 5-course dinner. All the preparation for the meal was done at the house so we were able to watch Jay in action. Each course was ready as we finished the previous one. Everything was beautifully presented, and most importantly, tasted amazing. He also talked to us about what we were eating at each course and we were able to see the true passion he has for cooking. We really appreciated that Jay tried to prepare the meal as healthy as possible — well, until we had the maple creme brulee, which was totally worth it! "My husband, daughter and I enjoyed a meal prepared in our home by Chef Jay for my husband's 42nd birthday. The experience from beginning to end was incredibly enjoyable, from meal planning to execution. Jay was very professional and worked with me to find a menu that worked for the whole family, even my 8 year old daughter. The menu included an incredible carrot ginger soup, pan-seared halibut served with a saffron cream and accompanied by whipped mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Jay prepared the meal for us in a cooking lesson style which was very unique and fun for the family. My husband could not say enough good things about the experience. He prefers to celebrate his birthday among family and without much fuss, so this was a perfect way to make his day special without a big party and as a change of pace from going out to a restaurant. He really enjoyed conversing with Jay and learning new cooking techniques as well as having leftovers the next day! My daughter especially loved the flaming bananas foster for dessert. I hired Chef Jay to cook a very special meal for a 40th birthday party. I told him what kind of cuisine I was looking for and he provided me with a fantastic menu that satisfied many taste buds. He arrived at my home and spent about 6 hours cooking the meal and when he left, the kitchen was much cleaner than when he arrived!

He also suggested some wine to pair with the meal. I had a request for an unusual dessert that he also made happen. My guests were greeted by the smells of little Italy and they could not wait to eat.

The presentation was beautifully displayed as family style and did not feel like a catered event.
